Hiring crew in Nigeria was slow, manual and opaque
Traditionally, shipowners contacted manning agents who manually searched their personal contacts, verified credentials by hand and negotiated terms — a process that could take weeks. Meanwhile, thousands of qualified seafarers had no central, trusted place to find opportunities.
Nigeria's Cabotage Act also requires vessels operating in Nigerian waters to use qualified Nigerian crew — yet no transparent, government-supported platform existed to reliably match supply with demand. We built one.
